Here are some must reads and multiple links to bring you knowledge to improve your health!!!! I spend a lot of time on this because I want you to know how to help yourself. As a health care provider for over 25 years, I've practiced a lot of a pill for an ill and now I am making up time and highlighting what we need holistically and from a wellness and preventive standpoint. I am currently experienced the need for surgery as I was living without an ACL for decades and this ACL insufficiency had consequences that needed fixing. I know you hear me talking about protein…a lot. Why? Because it supports peptides and amino acids which are your building blocks to so many aspects of your body’s make up and needed for your cellular metabolism and bodily function. Muscle is now touted as the largest organ of the body. You might hear that skin is. Skin requires a lot of the same nutrients that muscle needs. I’m sure you have inundated yourself with low carb and keto lifestyle information over the past few years. Nothing wrong with that if you want to get rid of excess adipose tissue in the body. But did you know, in general, a goal of 90 grams of protein a day is recommended. A 1:1 ratio of protein to carbs is a safe guide as well. Meaning, 90 grams of protein and 90 grams of carbs daily, with the rest coming from healthy fat sources. My favorite guide is Forever Strong by DR Gabrielle Lyon. (free audio book on amazon right now). That book is a must read for those wanting to achieve optimal health and wellness and stave off chronic disease. Her point is we are an under muscled society and not an over fat society. That’s why lifting weights or using body weight in your daily exercise is so important. We also have the opportunity to be healthy, prevent, or reverse many chronic diseases by just changing our diets and lifestyle.
